Rachel Meisler

Rachel Meisler opens her heart to share Yoga and Ayurveda ~ revealing these ancient, thriving modes of holistic health to be sustainable, realistic, practical ways of life. Here we are, full of flaws, perfectly ready for practice. Considering yoga to be ordinary, approachable, and essential for survival, Rachel creates a comfortable environment for learning at all levels. Each session with Rachel will calm the mind and rejuvenate the body. The focus of her classes is to cultivate pervasive peace and quiet, balance, strength, vitality, coordination, and concentration. Rachel unravels the postures of classical yoga with a focus on alignment and attunement to subtle nuances, threading seasonal lifestyle and nutrition science into her classes, with Mother Nature as the guide. A certified Ayurveda Health Counselor, Rachel graduated from the Mount Madonna Institute College of Ayurveda in 2015, and is a member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association. She offers individual workshops, classes, health coaching sessions, cleanses, and customized retreats based on Ayurveda. More information can be found at oceanayurveda.com.

Rachel’s life journey informs and inspires her yoga and healing work. With a background in dance, theater, and the arts, Rachel completed her B.A. in fine arts and creative writing at Loyola University Maryland in her home city of Baltimore. She was fortunate to study art in Europe while living in Belgium for one year. She also holds a master of fine arts degree in poetry writing from the University of Arizona and incorporates poetry into all facets of her life. A professional community educator since 1996, Rachel began by teaching college students the art of writing and the English language. She has created and led workshops for all ages in poetry, arts, and crafts, including the fine art of living well. Her sincere and scholarly yoga studies since 1997 inspired Rachel to join the Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher in 2008. Since then, she has presented the foundations of yoga to thousands of students and taught regularly at colleges, studios, community centers, festivals, special events, and privately. She loves one-on-one instruction outdoors. Wild lands, deserts, mountains, rivers, and oceans are Rachel’s natural habitat, and she nurtures creative inspiration exploring the world.
