Kacey Davy
Kacey Davy is a teacher with the American Sanskrit Institute who says that the language actually found her. She first heard the beauty of the Sanskrit language in the yoga classes she attended. Kacey soon found herself chanting, studying, and falling in love with the language. Chanting Sanskrit brings a great sense of peace and connection to herself and community. Kacey teaches for the pure joy of sharing Sanskrit with others. She enjoys chanting traditional yoga texts and mantras and teaching the grammar and philosophy found within. Kacey is registered with the Yoga Alliance as an ERYT-500 and YACEP and also teaches Ashtanga Yoga. Kacey was drawn to the Ashtanga method in 2005 as a way to relieve stress but has found a lifelong practice that provides her strength, peace, and spiritual connection. Her teaching philosophy is to see and accept each student as an individual and to offer kind and supportive guidance. Kacey completed her 200 & 300 hour teacher trainings as an apprentice with Zoe Mai, which provided an immersive experience over many years. She has participated in many workshops and travelled to India in 2016 to further absorb the yogic traditions. She has taught Mysore style and led classes in Tahoe from 2014-2019, continues to practice daily, and looks forward to offering classes again soon.
